Sunday Sep 10, 2023
Sunday Sep 10, 2023
To the dedicated listeners of the Overlooked Tracks podcast, I want to share that this summer has posed significant challenges for me personally. Shortly after the release of episode #53, I encountered illness, pain, and heartache, creating a rather unfavorable experience. During this time, I gained clarity about the individuals I could truly rely on; those who stood by me during this temporary setback and those who merely made empty assurances. This eye-opening period reinforced the notion that life is a continuous learning journey. Despite the years that have shaped my existence up to this point, each experience imparts new lessons, highlighting the essence of perpetual learning and growth.

A Journey into the Brazilian Essence: A Heartfelt Tribute
Sunday Jul 23, 2023
Sunday Jul 23, 2023
Upon learning of the recent passing of the renowned Brazilian singer Astrud Gilberto, I felt an undeniable urge to make a pilgrimage to Brazil, a place that holds a profound significance in my musical journey. Astrud's enchanting melodies introduced me to the mesmerizing world of Brazilian Jazz and jazz in general, leaving an indelible mark on my soul.
Her ethereal sounds served as a guiding light during a time when I was lost and seeking solace. Music became my sanctuary, slowly and surely helping me heal, and Astrud Gilberto played an integral role in that transformative process. Her artistry not only gifted me with beautiful compositions but also aided me in understanding myself as an individual.
While I may not have explored every song she released, the ones I did hear were enough to instill a sense of healing within me, complemented by the support of a loving family and true friends. And so, without delay, I embark on a musical journey through the heart of Brazil, dedicated to honoring the profound impact Astrud has had on my life through her magnificent music.
As I traverse the melodies and rhythms of this enchanting country, I pay homage to the late Astrud Gilberto, whose legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of music lovers around the world. Her gift to us, this exquisite music, will continue to inspire generations to come, and I am forever grateful to have been touched by her artistry.

Argentina is known for its outstanding and oh so beautiful landscapes, the welcoming atmosphere of the people of Argentina, their foods and wine (especially their meats and wine and you can get fat and drunk very quickly because is it oh so good, and you just can’t stop. Argentina is also known for its gorgeous dance of tango and most importantly, without the fine music being played in this country, there is no tango. It’s sort of a package deal.

The Anime Edition
Sunday May 14, 2023
Sunday May 14, 2023
I was having a conversation with someone and the subject was Japanese animation or simply “anime” and I was learning more about anime from the conversation than I could ever thought of. I’m a casual fan of the art form and interested in learning more about the fascination and popularity of anime. Damn, I have a lot to learn because there is SO MUCH to see. I did however discover the connection between Japanese anime and music – how appropriate because of course this is the Overlooked Tracks podcast - a music podcast.
Come to find out there’s music to be listened and a music genre folks need to pay attention to, especially if they’re big fans of anime and even if you’re not a big fan, the Anison music genre may be a good start for you to learn more about the music and anime. Maybe you can call it “Killing two birds with one stone”.
Please Note: Bump Music was from the following album and music artist: Album: Eternal Youth / Artist: Rude. Please go to the following link to find more music from this artist:

Jazz is being in the Moment
Wednesday Apr 26, 2023
Wednesday Apr 26, 2023
From the words of Herbie Hancock - the jazz maestro himself, being in the moment is the best way to stay in the now, keep your feet set on the present time and just being in peace with yourself and your surroundings. Just like the words I uttered, the music genre of Jazz can keep your mood stable, because you yourself may understand that life can take you on a trip to confusion and a couple of episodes of “AS THE WORLD TURNS” (if you understand about the so-called phenomenon of the American Soap Opera) comes into play. This is where Jazz comes in, not with the continuous analyzing of things, but the opposite, the tapping into the mind and finding your simple and your harmony within your spirit.
In order to assist you on that search of tranquility, these four tracks of Jazz will certainly guide you to greatness. Similar to the last episode on mental stability, we will focus on the spirit.
